1. Introduction

Welcome to Quiki.io ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us:

• Account information (email address, name)
• Video metadata (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) that you choose to manage through our service
• Video content you submit for analysis, including its transcript, audio, and sampled frames, which we process to generate AI insights
• Purchase history for subscriptions and credit purchases made on the web or through the Apple App Store
• Usage data and preferences
• Communication data when you contact us

Trying Quiki without an account

You can scan one TikTok or YouTube link on our public pages without signing up. For that we store the link you paste, the summary we generate for it, the page you were on and a salted hash of your IP address, which we use only to limit repeat use. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the request comes from a person; Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details for that check. If you ask us to email you the summary, we also store that email address. All of this is kept for 7 days unless you sign up and claim the video, when it becomes part of your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for:

• Providing and maintaining our service
• Generating AI summaries, tags, and analysis of the videos you submit
• Personalizing your experience
• Communicating with you about updates and features
• Improving our service
• Ensuring security and preventing fraud
• Sending you a trial summary you asked for and, unless you sign up first, one reminder about 24 hours later. Nothing else is sent to a trial email address, it is not added to any mailing list, and every message carries a link that stops the reminder at once

4. How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share data only with the service providers that help us operate Quiki, and only to the extent needed to deliver the service to you. These providers fall into the following categories:

• Cloud hosting and database providers, which run the app and store your account information and content
• Payment processors and app store billing, which take and verify your purchases
• Email providers, which send account emails and, where you opt in, marketing emails
• Cloudflare, which protects our public trial scan from automated abuse (Turnstile) and receives your IP address and browser details for that check
• AI analysis providers, which generate summaries, tags, and analysis from the videos you submit
• Video data providers, which retrieve public metadata and transcripts for the links you submit
• Analytics providers, which measure how the app is used in your browser, subject to your cookie choices (see section 10)
• PostHog, our product analytics provider, which receives a record of key actions in your account (sign up, running a video analysis, and purchasing credits) identified only by a random account identifier, never your email address. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service. This happens on our servers and does not use cookies, so it is not affected by your cookie choices. You can object to it at any time by contacting us.

Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. See section 5 on international data transfers.

5. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers process personal data outside the EEA and the UK, including in the United States and, for AI content analysis, in China. When you submit a video for analysis, the content we process (including its transcript, audio, and sampled frames) may be sent to AI providers located outside the EEA. Where we transfer personal data to these countries, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures, and we limit the data shared to what is needed to deliver the service.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address and purchase history only for as long as needed to operate your account and provide the app's functionality, including delivering purchased credits and subscription features and meeting our legal and accounting obligations. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we are legally required to retain certain records, such as transaction records kept for tax and accounting purposes. Trial scans made without an account, and any email address given with them, are deleted 7 days after the scan unless you sign up and claim the video. If you paste a link we do not recognise, we keep that link for 30 days, without any record of who pasted it, so we can add support for new link formats.

7. Mobile Application (iOS)

Quiki is also available as a native iOS app. The iOS app collects the same account information as the web service and processes in-app purchases through the Apple App Store. Purchase verification is handled by Apple's StoreKit, and we store only the purchase records needed to grant and manage your credits and subscription. We do not access your device contacts, photos, or location. You can request deletion of your account and associated data from within the app or by contacting us.

8. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Request transfer of your data

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies that are necessary for the service to function, for example to keep you signed in. We also use analytics cookies, including Google Analytics, PostHog, and Vercel Analytics, to understand how the app is used and to improve it. If you are in the EEA or the UK, we ask for your consent before setting analytics cookies, and cookie-based analytics do not run until you accept. This applies to analytics cookies set in your browser. It does not cover the server-side product analytics described in section 4, which uses no cookies and relies on legitimate interest rather than consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in our footer. You can also instruct your browser to refuse cookies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
